Who we are

This website is operated by Chef Ceber Inc. (“Chef Ceber”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a company incorporated in Ontario, Canada, located at 10651 Keele St, Maple, Ontario L6A 3Y9, Canada. Barlo is a brand of Chef Ceber Inc. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information in connection with this website, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

What we collect

We collect personal information only when you choose to give it to us:

  • Wholesale enquiries: your name, business name, email address, phone number (optional), country or region (optional), the product interest you select, and the content of your message.
  • Contact messages: your name, email address and the content of your message.
  • Newsletter sign-up: your email address.
  • Submission records:when you submit any form we record the date and time of submission, the IP address the submission came from, your browser’s user agent string, and the exact consent statement you agreed to. We keep this record to prevent abuse of our forms and to document your consent as CASL and PIPEDA require.

We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies on this site. Fonts are served by Adobe Fonts and product images by our content delivery network; those services receive the technical request data (such as your IP address) needed to deliver files to your browser.

Why we collect it

  • To answer your enquiry and manage a wholesale relationship you ask us to start.
  • To send you news about Barlo by email, only where you have given express consent.
  • To protect our forms and systems against spam, fraud and abuse.
  • To keep records that demonstrate consent and compliance with applicable law.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

Consent

Every form on this site includes an unticked consent box. We only process your submission if you tick it, and we store the wording you agreed to together with the time, IP address and browser details of the submission. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing us at info@chefceber.com; newsletter emails also include an unsubscribe mechanism. Withdrawal does not affect processing that happened before it.

Commercial electronic messages (CASL)

We send commercial electronic messages, such as the Barlo newsletter, only with your express consent. Every such message identifies Chef Ceber Inc. as the sender, includes our mailing address and a working unsubscribe mechanism, and unsubscribe requests take effect within 10 business days at the latest, and usually immediately.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf and under our instructions:

  • Email delivery providers, which transmit and store the messages you send us and the messages we send you.
  • Website hosting and content delivery providers, which process technical request data to serve the site.

These providers may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to local authorities under local law. We also disclose information where a law, regulation, court order or lawful authority requires it, or to protect our legal rights.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and correspondence: for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any business relationship that follows, and afterwards for as long as legal or accounting obligations require.
  • Consent records (timestamp, IP address, user agent, consent wording): for at least three years after your last interaction, reflecting CASL record-keeping expectations.
  • Newsletter addresses: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

You may ask us to delete your information sooner; we will do so unless we are legally required to keep it.

How we protect it

Form submissions travel over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Credentials for our email systems are held server-side only and are never exposed in the browser. Access to submissions is limited to the people who need it to respond to you. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable and proportionate safeguards for the sensitivity of the data we hold.

Your rights

Subject to limited exceptions under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Withdraw consent to further collection, use or disclosure.
  • Ask how your information has been used and to whom it has been disclosed.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@chefceber.com. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

Children

This site is aimed at businesses and adult consumers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
