Our story
Made by the family, since 1950.
Barlo is not a startup with a chocolate mood board. It is three generations of chocolate makers, one family factory, and a set of rules that never needed updating.
Chapter 01
1950
The first pour
One workshop, one tempering table, and a rule that outlived everyone who wrote it: if it does not snap, it does not leave the room.
The family name went on every bag. So every bag had to deserve it.
Chapter 02
1970s
The craft years
Recipes multiplied. Apprentices became masters and took on apprentices of their own.
The bench grew into lines, the lines into rooms. The snap stayed the snap.
Chapter 03
2000s
Industrial muscle
The family factory scaled to thousands of tonnes a year without losing the bench: an R&D team that tastes everything, audits that never stop.
FSSC 22000. ISO 9001. Halal and Kosher. Earned once, kept every year since.
The name goes on every bag.
That sentence built the factory. Everything else is detail.
Chapter 04
2020s
Crossing over
Chef Ceber Inc. set up in Toronto to bring the family's chocolate to North America. Bilingual packaging, CFIA and FDA compliance, pallets that arrive when promised.
And a habit that crossed the ocean intact: a real person answers, within one business day.
Chapter 05
Today
Barlo
500+ SKUs across couverture, chips, chunks, compound, decorations, sauces, creams and Dubai bars.
Blind-test wins over the legacy brands. One of the few factories anywhere pouring real decorations and colored couverture. Serious chocolate, for the people who take it seriously.
Still true
What never changed.
The snap rule
Temper checked on every batch. No exceptions, no tired Fridays.
Family hands
Three generations in, the recipes still answer to the family.
A real person answers
